We compare the iPhone 6 rumors against the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One

The iPhone 6 rumor mill is churning overtime, so we decided to pit it up against the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 to see which will be the star of 2013.

Apple iPhone 6 (rumors) vs. HTC One vs. Samsung Galaxy S4: Display

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch, super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a pixel density of 441PPI and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The HTC One has a slightly smaller screen, coming in at 4.7-inches, but displays the same 1080 x 1920 pixels as the Galaxy S4, giving it a slightly higher pixel density of 469PPI. It also has a protective coating, but in the form of Gorilla Glass 3.

The iPhone 6, according to some sources, could make the jump to a potentially whopping 5.7-inch screen and one rumor suggests that Apple may offer a 4.7-inch model too, given consumers the choice. It will undoubtedly offer retina technology, giving the device a rich, high-definition display and will likely have a scratch-proof coating. But we wouldn’t bet our homes on those screen sizes quiet yet, as something like 4.2-inches is far more likely.

Winner – Draw

Apple iPhone 6 (rumors) vs. HTC One vs. Samsung Galaxy S4: Form

Both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One are very typical of devices from their respective manufacturer. Each has a large screen, minimal bevel and low-profile hardware buttons, but the One is unmistakably HTC and the Galaxy S4 looks (and feels) every inch the Samsung, which is great in terms of continuity of brand, but doesn’t offer any cutting edge design.

The Galaxy S4 is made of a polycarbonate material, which doesn’t feel quite as nice in the hand as the slightly more robust feeling HTC One, hewn of aluminium, but both have their advantages.

The iPhone 6’s design is, and will remain for some time, a mystery. It could well be made of glass, but there’s every chance that Apple will make the jump to a carbon fiber/aluminium mix, so that cases can contain more tech while remaining considerably lighter than the current model.

Winner – HTC One

Apple iPhone 6 (rumors) vs. HTC One vs. Samsung Galaxy S4: Camera

The iPhone 6 could sport anything up to a 13-megapixel camera, though many feel that Apple will stick to 8-megapixels and bestow the device with better apertures, sensors and capture features. iOS 7 is apparently still hiding some secrets in terms of camera software, so expect something along the lines of slow-mo capture and more.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13-megapixel camera, which captures 4128 x 3096 pixels and offers a whole bundle of features, such as: Dual Shot, simultaneous HD video and image capture, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization and HDR! It records video in 1080P at 30 frames per second and offers dual video recording capabilities.

The HTC One is famed for its camera prowess with its Ultrapixel technology, which packs in 4 4-megapixel sensors, capturing 2µm pixel size. The device has all the bells and whistles in terms of extra features and can record 1080P video at 30 frames per second, with stereo sound!

Winner – HTC One
