iPhone 5S coming to AT&T soon
AT&T is already prepping users to upgrade to iPhone 5S
The iPhone 5S may be landing on AT&T really soon, as some users are already reporting seeing the upgrade pricing for the next handset.
Over at GottaBeMobile there's a screenshot offering the upgrade pricing even though the user is in the middle of the two-year contract. AT&T generally makes you wait up to 24 months to get a discounted upgrade but it looks like it could be making an exception for the next iPhone.
The iPhone 5S is expected to be released within the next few months and we could see the introduction as soon as September. If it debuts in the middle of September, we can expect it to be available for customers at the end of September or maybe early October.
Many are expecting the iPhone 5S to have the same form factor as the iPhone 5 but the internals should be improved greatly. We think you'll get a similar 4-inch Retina Display but it could have a different construction which makes it better on the battery life.
Other specs could include a quad-core processor, at least 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi and a plethora of sensors. Samsung and some other handset makers are upping the ante with the inlcusion of things like barometer sensors, so it will be interesting to see how Apple responds.
The iPhone 5S is also expected to have a 12-megapixel camera and this could include things like slow-motion video capture. We also know that iOS 7 will give you a bunch of new shooting options including the ability to add filters directly from the camera app.
We expect the iPhone 5S to come to all four major carriers, including AT&T. If Apple follows its previous pattern, you can look forward to this for about $199 with a new, two-year contract.
