Follow these instructions to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD

The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD on Verizon is one of our favorite Android phones on the market and now that you can get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on it, it's even better. We'll walk you through the process of downloading and installing the Android update.

By now, the update should be widely available. In order to see if you can download it, go into the Settings, scroll to the bottom and tap "About phone." From there, click on "System update" and if it's available, you'll then be able to download the update.

Click on the agree button and the update will start downloading and installing automatically. It will reboot at least once, so don't panic if that happens.

I suggest you connect over WiFi if you can, so that the update doesn't count against your data cap. I also recommend having at least 25 percent battery life and the entire downloading and installation process should take about 10 minutes.

What's the appeal of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean? The first thing you'll notice once you upgrade is that the Motorola DROID RAZR HD MAXX just feels so much faster. Switching between apps, scrolling on web pages and nearly every other interaction is just so much quicker thanks to the new software.

You'll also get access to cool features like Google Now - which gives you real-time updates on the weather, sports scores and more - as well as offline voice dictation abilities.

Enjoy Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on your Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD!
