Changing lock screen apps on your Android 4.0-powered DROID RAZR MAXX can be done in a few simple steps

One of the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX's best features is the ability to customize the lock screen. Thanks to the all-new Motoblur, you can now add apps to your lock screen for easy access without ever unlocking the device.

While adding and changing lock screen apps should really be easy, finding the option on the DROID RAZR MAXX is a bit tricky. I even had a little bit of trouble finding the option myself, so I decided to make this short how-to.

To add your own apps to the lock screen simply follow our step-by-step guide below:

  1. From the DROID RAZR MAXX home screen, navigate to and open the Settings app.
  2. Now scroll down the settings menu and tap Security, then Lock screen options.
  3. Once inside, confirm that the shortcut button is turned on and then tap Shortcuts.
  4. Now you will be presented with three icons. Drag to the trash those that you want to remove from the lock screen and use the + symbol to add new app shortcuts.

That's it! You will now have new apps on your lock screen for easy access.

Shortcuts is not an option on my Razr Maxx

Lock screen opt is not on my Razr Maxx. Its Security & Screen Lock and u can only change the pin/password/pattern. It was just forced upgraded 2 ICS

To change lock screen apps, lock your phone, tap the time, hold, and swipe LEFT. (Swiping right should bring up the camera.) If you have "shortcuts" enabled in the "settings>lock screen and security" menu, there will be a big ol' plus sign. Tap it and you will see available apps to add to your home screen. I wish you had more options (maps is a must for me), but there are some there already.
