RIM roadmap reveals BlackBerry 10 smartphones and a new PlayBook
A new leaked RIM roadmap reveals a bunch of new devices are coming very soon, including BlackBerry 10 devices, a Playbook and two new Curves
RIM's upcoming 2012/2013 product roadmap has leaked. The roadmap, which was first obtained by BGR, provides details on new product launches, including the upcoming release of the company's first BlackBerry 10 smartphone in late 2012.
The roadmap is said to be up to date and indicates RIM plans to introduce two new Curve smartphones very soon: the BlackBerry Curve 9230 and the BlackBerry Curve 9320. These may very well be the company's last BlackBerry 7 smartphones.
The roadmap also reveals an upcoming, new BlackBerry PlayBook, which is slated to be unveiled later this year. The new tablet is said to be powered by a 1.5GHz processor and feature built-in HSPA+ 42Mbps cellular data support and NFC. With the 42Mbps HSPA+ radio built-in, a launch on T-Mobile USA is more than likely.
Finally, the roadmap shows that several BlackBerry 10 smartphones are in the works, including the long-rumored BlackBerry London. A QWERTY slider running BlackBerry 10 has also been mentioned for late 2012 or very early 2013.
With all of these new devices on the horizon, RIM is really shaping up to be a completely different company this year.
