Amazon prepping 7-inch & 10-inch Kindle Fire Tablets
Amazon is rumored to be developing two new additions to its Kindle Fire range
Amazon is reportedly planning to launch two new versions of its amazingly popular Kindle Fire tablet in the second half of 2012.
The Kindle Fire's success has been largely attributed to its sub-$200 price tag, and sources predict that Amazon is ready to shake up the market once again with two new flavors of the tablet, which has sold nearly 3.9 million units since its November, 2011, launch.
The rumor, which was picked up by Digitimes, claims that manufacturers have confirmed the arrival of 7-inch and 10-inch tablets later this year, and that popular hardware firm Foxconn, has signed on to deliver the larger model.
Whatever Amazon has up its sleeve is going to have to be substantial though, as the market is preparing for a deluge of budget-friendly Android tablets from various manufacturers and, of course, the arrival of both Apple's new iPad and, supposedly, Google's premier Nexus Tablet.
It looks like 2012 is truly shaping up to be the year of the tablet.
