T-Mobile USA turns on 4G HSPA+ in eight new cities
T-Mobile USA expanded its 4G HSPA+ network footprint to eight new locales today
T-Mobile USA today announced the expansion of its 4G HSPA+ network footprint to eight new cities. The company revealed the news in an official corporate blog post by T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray.
Starting today, citizens of Abilene, Amarillo, Odessa, and Victoria, Texas; Bakersfield, Calif.; Eau Claire, Wisconsin.; and Joplin and St. Joseph, Mo. are the newest to experience T-Mobile's faster 4G HSPA+ network.
The speediest data speeds will come to the Texan and Californian cities, as well as to Port St. Lucia, Fla. Overall, the new expansion brings T-Mobile USA's 4G HSPA+ total to 225 markets across the United States.
Ray also confirmed in the same blog post that the acquired spectrum from the failed AT&T deal will allow T-Mobile USA to deploy 4G LTE. T-Mobile announced a 2013 4G LTE roll-out earlier this year during the company's Q4 earnings call.
