Apple's new weekly app promo slashes price of popular picks for your iPhone and iPad

If you’re as obsessive over new apps for your iOS devices as we are, you’re gonna be just tickled when you hear about the latest promotion from Apple.

Wait. A promotion from Apple, are you serious? Yes, it’s true. Brace yourself. K, ready? Apple just launched a new “app of the week” campaign” where it takes one really spectacular app each week and makes it totally free. F-r-e-e.

Free loot from Apple is so rare that we don’t blame you if you don’t really believe us. But you should, because it’s true. Just head over to the company’s App Store and check it out for yourself. While you’re there, you can download the first free app up for grabs; Cut the Rope: Experiments.

Along with its new weekly app promo, Apple also just introduced “Editor’s Choice” in the App Store. In this new selection you’ll find apps that are hand-picked by Apple’s staff. Currently these include Extreme Skater, Air Mail, and Sketchbook Ink. You’ll also find our own momentary favorite, Facebook Camera, which we tested out Thursday. Facebook Camera is the social network’s latest photo-focused app, which functions in a similar fashion to Instagram and offers fifteen different filters—you can read more about it here.

So, are you just excited about this new weekly iOS app deal as we are? Head over to our Facebook page and let us know what you think of Apple’s top picks.
