Apple 'blown away' by iPhone 5 response
Apple said it has been "completely blown away" by the sold-out iPhone 5 preorders
How does Apple feel about the demand for the iPhone 5? Let's just say that Apple is going to be pretty happy between now and the time the iPhone 5 goes on sale Sept. 21.
"Pre-orders for iPhone 5 have been incredible," Apple told AllThingsD. "We've been completely blown away by customer response."
The iPhone 5 sports a larger 4-inch Retina Display, a boosted processor, an improved camera and other goodies. While some close Apple followers may have been a little underwhelmed by the new features, it's looking like the iPhone 5 is going to be a massive success.
During the Apple, Samsung patent trial, it became known that Apple expects every new iPhone to sell as many as the previous iPhones combined. That's quite a daunting task but the iPhone 5 may be able to do that, as some are expecting it to sell 10 million in its opening weekend alone and nearly 50 million units for the Apple fourth quarter.
