Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and its S Pen: 5 tips
Here are some of the best tips for using your Note 2 with Samsung's S Pen
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is an very unique mobile device because it's essentially a tablet and smartphone in one sweet, sexy uni-body frame. The device is great for taking notes, drawing and even taking screenshots.
The Note 2 also comes with its very own stylus: the S Pen. The S Pen lets users interact with the Note using touch input. Completely redesigned, the S Pen is light and feels very good in the hand. It's everything it should be.
Anyway, let's look at some things you can do with Samsung's S Pen on your all new Galaxy Note 2. We've done the work to provide you with five great tips.
The Galaxy Note 2's custom software includes some really helpful additions. The software lets you perform tasks and open applications with a quick swipe of your stylus. Holding the button on the S Pen and dragging it upward on the screen opens up a quick command dialogue box. You can now use one of the pre-set gestures or create your very own. You can turn on Wi-Fi, silence the Note 2 or even turn on vibrate.
Are you a fan of taking notes and memos? If so, you'll love the fact that on the Note 2 you can set it up so a Pop-up Note shows up every time you pull the S Pen out. This feature can be very useful. It can be enabled in S Pen Settings under Settings.
As we mentioned in our guide, the S Pen can also be used to take a screenshot. As someone who takes quite a few screenshots, this is definitely useful. To take a screenshot on your Note 2 hold down the S Pen button and touch the screen. That's it. You can also take a selected screenshot but pressing the S Pen button down and tracing the section of the screen you want saved, so if you don't want a shot of the entire screen, this is a handy way of getting selective shots.
Air View is an awesome new feature on the Note 2. Air View is basically a flourish that brings up previews of content such as texts, photos and videos when you hover the pen over them. It's really cool and something I wish all smartphones had.
Missing S Pen Alert
Always losing things? Don't sweat; Samsung's got your back, especially if you misplace your S Pen. In the Note 2's Settings you can set it so the smartphone will vibrate every time a user moves 10 feet away from the device's stylus. It's pretty neat and innovative. It's also something I definitely value as I'm not too careful all of the time.
