Best Thanksgiving apps for the whole family
Get your entire clan involved in holiday festivities with these iPhone and Android apps
For many of us, Thanksgiving is one of the few occasions to get the whole family together in the same room at the same time. But it doesn't have to dead-end after the feast in the dining room. Check out these iPhone and Android apps designed with your entire brood in mind.
Cooking With Kids (iOS)
Thanksgiving cooking can be rough, especially when grubby little paws keep working their way through your unbaked treats. When this is the case, try letting the little ones join in on the fun (we're using "fun" loosely here, really). Cooking With Kids' app offers up a database of over 90 kid-friendly recipes with simple instructions and tasty illustrations.
This one is especially great for families planning holiday travel. You can keep the kiddos entertained with their favorite cartoons, or pick something from Netflix's holiday section. The company also recently added a "Just for Kids" category to its iPad app, so you can let the little ones flip through and decide for themselves.
When you're lost on things to be Thankful for, The Village Church can help you out. The community's iOS and Android apps are packed with plenty of sermons, blogs and music to inspire. If you're in the Dallas area, you can also check out information on the church's local campuses, along with event schedules.
ABC Family (iOS)
Disturbingly trashy teen shows aside, ABC Family is best known around the holidays for its excellent move lineup. Featuring everything from old claymation classics to new family-friendly Christmas comedies, there's a little something for everyone here. The app is compatible with Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
