Nokia Juggernaut revealed in leaked video, maybe
Is this gigantic smartphone Nokia's new Juggernaut or just another Lumia 820 prototype?
Nokia's "Juggernaut" smartphone is all over the Internet now, thanks to a recently leaked video showcasing some pretty solid specs. That is, if it's actually the Juggernaut at all and not just some Lumia prototype.
If you recall, we first heard rumors of the Juggernaut back in October, just ahead of the Windows Phone 8 launch. But given the hype over Nokia's Lumia lineup at that time, chatter of the heroically named smartphone settled just as quickly as it started. Until now, anyway.
Our sister site Know Your Mobile stumbled on this video, allegedly posted by Igor Shastitko from Microsoft Ukraine, which reveals the supposed Juggernaut along with a 4.3-inch Nokia Lumia 820. The side-by-side comparison is great and it gives us a general idea of just how much larger this new handset could be (it looks as though it may even be bigger than the 920).
As for the handset's ominous name, it's certainly one to live up to if it sticks. And all we can really gather at this point is that the device is rather clunky, has an 800 x 480 resolution and probably runs on Windows Phone 8. If Nokia did, in fact, choose to give it the Juggernaut name, one would hope that it seriously comes through where both hardware and software are concerned.
Most likely, though, the Finnish smartphone maker would just slap a number on this thing if it were to remain consistent in branding. Then again, like we said, there's a chance this isn't even in Nokia's new lineup at all. As Windows Phone Central points out in a recent update, the translation in the video indicates that the handset in question is the Lumia 820 prototype. As for the size difference, it's purportedly just a guise.
