iPad mini 2 and iPad 5 rumors: Stop it, just stop it right now
Apple rumors are back in full swing. Here's what they look like, and why we should probably just all chill out for a bit
Apple's iPad mini 2 and iPad 5 will be here in March, analysts say! That's the junk I woke up to in my RSS feed this morning. It's more upsetting, because I generally enjoy the outlets churning out this crap. But lately I feel like I'm just reading the same stuff over and over. And ... over.
I'm not saying we shouldn't continue the conversation here. But if we're going to get all jazzed about how the next gen iOS devices might look and run, can we please -- dear lord, can we please get a little more creative with it? I mean, if we're going to go all out and call it a rumor, can we at least really make it one? If not, can we just maybe let it rest for a minute?
Here's what people are saying so far:
- iPad mini 2 will have a retina display (I'm really tempted to use curse words here, but that's not permitted. Also, I'm a lady. Oh, and didn't we already hear about this back in December?)
- iPad mini 2 and iPad 5 could launch in March (...no kidding.)
- Then again, Apple could hold off until the third quarter of 2013
- iPad mini 5 will be thinner and lighter (OK, we're at least getting warmer with this one.)
So, it looks like the biggest Apple mystery right now is the new tablets' launch date. Will it be March? That's right around the damn corner. On top of that, Apple is just now releasing its original iPad mini and fourth generation iPad in China. A March launch would mean that the company waited just five measly months between new versions of its coveted tablets. Then again, the third quarter feels like a terribly long time to wait.
