Guys, Valentine's Day is less than 48-hours away, which means one of three things: 1) You're about to have a smokin' hot Thursday night; 2) You're going to wait until the very last minute to make plans and as a result you'll end up sleeping on that painfully uncomfortable Ikea sofa (you did this to yourself, cheapskate); 3) You're planning to drown your bachelor woes with a bottle of bourbon (in which case, maybe start with Bulleit).

Before you reach panic mode, check out these Android and iOS apps designed to help you through the best and the worst of it.

The perfectly planned date

Maybe you've been shacked up with your significant other for years. Maybe it's all brand new. Maybe you've been married so long that you're desperate to reignite whatever the hell it was that brought you two together in the first place. However long it has or hasn't been, you're the kind of bro who really adores your gal and you'll stop at nothing to charm the pants off her (literally).

The FaceTime date

Sometimes baby steps (not to be confused with babytalk) are required on such lauded occasions. There are at least two acceptable situations when a FaceTime date is a suitable substitute for the real thing. The first is when you're in a long-distance relationship, or maybe your better half is holed up miles away on business. When this is the case, a video call is a much better alternative to the old school phone chat.

The second acceptable scenario is when you want to avoid the whole awkward first date thing. We're not saying that a sultry FaceTime will be any less awkward the first time around, but at least you're sparing yourself the public audience in a potentially undesirable situation.

The blind date

Speaking of awkward first dates, this one takes the heart-shaped cake. Popular online dating site OkCupid recently released a new app for its serial daters called Crazy Blind Date. While the name is totally fitting, the app is most definitely not tailored to everyone. But, should you find yourself in a pinch on V-Day -- or just so lonely you can barely take it and the bourbon is no longer dulling the pain (you poor thing), go ahead and give it a whirl. Really, what's the worst that could happen spending the most hyped romantic day of the year with a total stranger?

The "I'm going to be alone forever" date

Screw you, Hallmark! I hate you, Valentine's Day! Flowers are pointless, they just die! This day is so unbelievably stupid and where the hell is my ice cream?! If you're feeling any of these sentiments, you're ready for the solo date, also known as the utterly unnerving "I'm just gonna do me" date. Also known as you've-been-kicked-to- the-curb-and-you're-not-coping-well date. When the mere idea of "love" makes your skin crawl with rage, you're better off leaving the turtle doves alone with their pet names and booths for two while you celebrate your newfound freedom.
