Galaxy S4 case leak

This third-party Galaxy S4 case leak indicates that Samsung's next smartphone will stray from the company's current design

Samsung Galaxy S4 rumors continue to flood in as we get closer to the highly speculated March (possibly April) launch date. We've already heard ten million different ideas on how the phone might actually look and function, but today we stumbled on a leak that gives us a relatively clear picture of the phone's design, assuming it's the real deal. The image above, originally posted by UK retailer MobileFun, is purportedly the new case design from a "trusted" accessory manufacturer in China.

The cases indicate a design that appears more in line with the old Galaxy S2, rather than Samsung's current pebble design seen on the current S3. The back shows a rather large cut-out for the camera, and two smaller slots which are most likely for an LED flash and a rear speaker. According to MobileFun, the display should measure in at around 5-inches, which is right in line with what we've heard prior to this leak.

The larger display size wouldn't be shocking coming from Samsung, as it would seem that the Korean smartphone marker harbors a serious love for gigantic smartphones (or perhaps it's just that we're accustomed to rival companies making devices so much smaller). In any case, the trend toward larger phone displays is sticking for the moment (meanwhile, tablet's are going in the other direction). The rest of the case's details -- including the headphone jack location, volume keys and charging port -- looks pretty much the same as the S3.

Samsung has yet to announce an official launch date for its upcoming Galaxy S4. Running purely on rumors up to this point, our best guess is that the phone will launch sometime in March or early April. We'll most likely see the handset hit the UK first. There's also been talk of Samsung releasing a smaller Galaxy S4 mini along with its full-size S4, but details remain sparse on that one.
