BlackBerry ‘Apollo’ makes an appearance

The BlackBerry 'Apollo' is next in line for the Curve line sporting a 5MP camera, BlackBerry OS 6.1

Following up the leak of the BlackBerry Dakota, BGR has posted a picture and specs of the BlackBerry ‘Apollo’.  The Apollo is said to be the next iteration in the Curve line that has been extremely successful for RIM.

The Curve line has traditionally been an entry level device for BlackBerry users, having a lower price point and the specs to match.  The rumored specs of the Apollo are a big step up for Curve users and should offer those who are in the market for an entry level BlackBerry a solid choice.  The report didn’t mention an expected release date or carrier(s).  Rumored specs:

  • Tri-band UMTS/HSPA 7.2Mbps
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n
  • GPS
  • NFC
  • 512MB of eMMC, 512MB of RAM
