The BlackBerry Z10 has been updated to and this speeds up apps and fixes some bugs

The BlackBerry Z10 hasn't even officially launched here but the company has already pushed out a software update to add some improvements.

The update should bring your handset to software version and Blackberry is pointing to five specific features of this update in a blog post. The update should boost the performance of third-party apps on the BlackBerry Z10 and be on the lookout for the launch of new apps like WhatsApp.

The BlackBerry Z10 software update will also improve your Phone, Calendar and Contacts including a bug fix for Gmail calendars. BlackBerry said this should also streamline the process of importing contacts from online sources.

The update also inlcudes some fixes for the camera which should improve the low-light shots and the way the browser handles video playback should also see a boost. Finally, BlackBerry is saying that this software include a much-needed improvement of battery life, which I know is very important for many of you out there.

Go ahead and check out our BlackBerry Z10 preview for a taste of what to expect. This is the first phone to launch with the BlackBerry 10 operating system and the hardware itself isn't too shabby.

We're expecting the BlackBerry Z10 to launch on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon in the next few weeks. Hopefully, it will come with this latest software on it out of the box.
