AT&T will reportedly offer the BlackBerry Z10 later this month and it may be the first carrier to have it

The BlackBerry Z10 may be landing on AT&T March 22, according to a report, and this could be your first opportunity to get your hands on the BlackBerry 10 operatiing system.

The report comes from Bloomberg and AT&T hasn't confirmed it yet but this does fall into the time window we've heard before. T-Mobile and Verizon are also expected to have the BlackBerry Z10 and we'd expect both of these versions to launch before the end of the month.

The BlackBerry Z10 is one of the most advanced handsets that the company has ever put out. It sports a 4.2-inch display with 356 pixels per inch, it's powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE. All of the early reviews suggest that it is a handsome-looking device.

The hardware and design are one thing but perhaps the most appealing part of the BlackBerry Z10 is that it is the first device with the BlackBerry 10 OS. This is a brand new platform build with touch in mind and it features a lot of neat things like a built-in messaging hub, a strong virtual keyboard and the ability download third-party apps from the BlackBerry World.

We've played with the BlackBerry Z10 a bit since its official introduction and we really like many aspects of it. There's a bit of a learning curve to the gestures but once you've mastered those, it's very simple to interact with, especially with one hand. Things just seem pretty fast and fluid and the virtual keyboard is the best in the business.

On the down side, we're not really impressed with the quantity and quality of apps in the BlackBerry World right now. There are some interesting apps that are written specifically for the BlackBerry Z10 but others feel rushed or ported and don't deliver that great of an experience.

The BlackBerry Z10 is the first salvo in a turnaround attempt for the company that used to be known as Research In Motion. Look for the BlackBerry Q10 to launch later this year with a full, physical keyboard and it should be coming to Sprint. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a budget BlackBerry 10 handset released by the end of the year.

While there's no confirmation on the release date and pricing, look for the BlackBerry Z10 to land on AT&T for about $199 on a new, two-year contract.
