The HTC One is rumored to land March 22 for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile

A new report suggests that the upcoming HTC One will launch in the United States on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile on March 22 for about $199.99 with a new, two-year contract.

The folks at HTC Source have been tipped about the release date and it makes sense, as the company is expected to introduce the HTC One at a press event next Tuesday. The $199.99 price is reportedly for the 32GB version and users will also be able to get a 64GB model for $299.99 on a new contract.

The rumors suggest that the HTC One, which has also been called the "M7" in code names, should have a 1080p HD 4.7-inch screen, a 1.7GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, GPS, NFC, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and a revamped camera system. This camera system may be called "Ultrapixel" and it essentially stacks multiple camera lenses on top of each other to make extremely detailed photos.

The report also said that the HTC One will launch in Europe March 8. You may be asking, "Why no device for Verizon?" While there's still a chance it comes to Verizon, Big Red did just get the HTC-built DROID DNA and it may share many features that are similar to the HTC One.

HTC has really been trying to make a strong push with its One branding, so it will actually be quite an accomplishment if it can bring the HTC One to multiple carriers without having to rebrand it for each service provider.

Judging by its track record, the HTC One is gearing up to be the first great smartphone of 2013. It will be a jam-packed year though, as the Galaxy S4 may land as early as April and the next iPhone looms on the horizon.
