We show you how to get started on your Samsung Focus home screen

Just like on a Windows PC, Start is like home base. Windows lets you chose what tiles you want to pin to your homepage, making shortcuts to some of your favorite places. It’s the first thing you see when you pull out your phone, so it should have what you want, where you want it.

To pin an app:

  • From Start – flick left to App list
  • Tap and hold the App you want, tap Pin to Start

To pin a website:

  • Open the website you want
  • Tap More, then Pin to Start

To pin a location:

  • From Start – flick left to App list, then tap Maps
  • Type the location you want
  • Tap the flag on your location, then tap Pin

To unpin a tile:

  • Tap and hold the unwanted tile
  • Tap Unpin

How much space do you want between tiles? Do you want one tile in each row or do you want to use all the available space? It’s as easy as flick (for the direction you want the screen to move), tap (to open or launch), and pan (to move through screens and menus at your own rate)

To change accent color:

  • From Start – tap the arrow to go to App list, then tap Settings
  • Tap Theme
  • Tap Accent Color list
  • Tap the color you want and check out your new theme color in the highlight sentence- you’ll see your accent color in places like tiles, web links, and your App list

To change background theme:

  • From Start – tap the arrow to go to App list, then tap Settings
  • Tap Theme
  • Tap Background list
  • Tap Dark to make your background black; tap Light to make your background white
