We’re not so keen on the source, but it there have been several reports indicating that a number of manufacturers are considering skipping straight to Android 4.3. And why not? It is, after all, the most up to date OS for Android’s platform. I mean, are you really going to be that disappointed if you don’t get all the variants in between?
As it tends to go with such rumors, no specific date has been mentioned for the potential update, but if true, it shouldn’t be too much longer before we see it surface. It could very well go down around the same time as Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 announcement, which is slated for Sept. 4 in Berlin.
Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4 smatphone should also be getting an update to Android 4.3 soon, but it looks like owners may have to hold out until Aug. 19, as Samsung is reportedly still in the testing phase.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean brings in several new features and improvements to Google’s OS. This includes things like better app integration, slicker graphics (mainly for gaming), a new font that’ll make you go ‘ooooh la la,’ and a new camera UI.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Google Edition has already received the update, but owners of the plain ole Galaxy S4 will have to sit tight. We’ll let you know as soon as the updates for the Note 2 and S4 are official.
